Family & Friends Council Meeting (Home & Hospital) – Dec 15 @ 2:30

On December 15, 2022, 2:30pm-3:30pm, Family and Friends (Family Council) will be meeting in person. The option of attending via Microsoft TEAMS will be offered as well if you cannot attend in person. The meeting will take place in the Menno Hospital Conference Room (near the Fireside Café – behind Receptionist Leslie Calbick’s desk).

Family and Friends is a regularly scheduled meeting for family members, friends or representatives of our residents in Menno Home and Menno Hospital. Our guest speakers will be Manager of Care Feldi Navarro and Menno Home Chaplain Ann Thakker. Feldi will be sharing her new role and how she can be a support for the residents and families in Menno Home and Hospital. Ann will be discussing palliative care and end of life support, and how she can be a support for residents and families.Family Council is a great way to connect and learn about the opportunities that are on the Menno Place campus, as well as getting to know other family members that are on a similar journey with their loved ones in long term care. Sharon and Linda will be discussing their roles, as well as how families can be involved in our resident’s lives within their departments.

2022 Walk for Alzheimer’s

After almost two years of navigating this virtual world, Menno Place is excited to announce, the 2022 IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s, returning to Abbotsford on Sunday May 29, 2022!

The Walk is a way Menno Place can celebrate and remember people in our lives who have been affected by dementia, while we raise valuable funds and awareness to create change in our community.

The Walk is the Alzheimer Society of B.C.’s flagship fundraising event and a great way for family, friends and the staff at Menno Place to demonstrate leadership in our community by stepping up and showing we care!

If you would like to take part in the Walk, encourage your family and/or co-workers to fundraise and participate! To register as an individual or a team, visit the Walk website at www.walkforalzheimers.ca.

Location: Gardner Park, 31070 Gardner Ave, Abbotsford (Note: The entrance to the park and parking area is off of Livingstone Avenue.)

Route information: There will have three routes (all under 300 meters), one wheelchair accessible and two gravel loops around the park.
