COVID OUTBREAK UPDATE – Nov. 26, 2020 – Menno Hospital E1 & E2
NEW COVID POSITIVE CASES = 0
CHANGE FROM YESTERDAY = NO CHANGE
TOTAL COVID POSITIVE CASES = 1 staff member / 0 residents

All residents Hospital in E1 and E2 have been swabbed

We are swabbing all of the staff who were exposed

E1 and E2 are are on droplet precaution – full PPE required (gowns, goggles, masks with appropriate PPE changes between care for residents)

W2 is on isolation – residents are in their own rooms. Staff continue to wear masks and goggles as they have been throughout the pandemic. Residents do not come out of their rooms, including eating and personal hygiene care.

All staff are now cloistered – this means that staff can only work in one specific unit for the duration of the outbreak. Some staff will need to work in more than one unit (maintenance) but the majority of the staff will only work in one unit for the duration of the outbreak

Previously, a staff member could work in one unit per shift, exercising covid protocols between shifts (showering, clean clothing, etc.)
