Read the Q+A to find out what he does on a typical day and why he loves working at Menno Place!
Q: What did you want to be when you were a kid?
A: An archaeologist.
Q: What are some small things that make your day better?
A: Constant coffee and lots of laughter.
Q: What do you do on a typical day after work?
A: I tend to two very needy cats as soon as I get home and then proceed to determine how much bread baking I feel like doing. Depending on that decision, I either spend my evening baking or relaxing with friends, family, or books.
Q: What is your favourite thing about working at Menno Place?
A: My favorite thing is how rewarding the work we all do here feels. I’ve never felt as good about the work I do at any other job I’ve had.
Q: What is the best piece of advice you ever received?
A: You get one life: that’s it. You may as well live it with a smile on your face.
Q: Where is your dream vacation spot?
A: Morocco. The cuisine there is a fusion of Spanish, Middle Eastern, and North African foods. I would love to travel there and gain about 15 pounds.
Q:What are you looking forward to in the next year?
A: A proper, bona-fide two week vacation, as mandated by my manager.
Q: What’s your favourite holiday?
A: Christmas. It forces families to spend time with each other, which is a good thing.
Q: What TV show are you watching currently?
A: Just the odd news commentary program.
Q: What was your first job?
A: Working as a cook at Panago, a pizza place, in Abbotsford.
