Menno Home E2 was removed off of enhanced monitoring today! Good work, Team! Social visits to resume!

NEW COVID POSITIVE CASES  = 0

TOTAL COVID POSITIVE CASES = 1 (0 resident/ 1 staff)

We are delighted to report that most of the W2 Home residents were taken off isolation yesterday evening. Some residents were identified as being at risk and remain on isolation. Public Health and our Infection Control Lead nurse are working long hours to continue the communication and to put the appropriate measures in place to minimize risk of COVID transmission.
There will be no social visits, but essential visitors can return. Primary contacts of residents who remain on isolation have been contacted.

MAY 8, 2021 – MENNO HOME W1 – OFF ISOLATION/ENHANCED MONITORING

COVID-19 UPDATE – MAY 8, W1 HOME

W1 Home finished the course of enhanced monitoring on May 7th in the morning as per previous COVID-19 exposure. In the morning of May 7th, a concern regarding the COVID-19 exposure on W2 put the W1 unit back on isolation precautions. This concern was evaluated by the Public Health Officer and deemed no-risk. W1 was taken off enhanced monitoring in the late afternoon on May 7th.
Social visits resume!

COVID UPDATE – May 7, 2021 – Home W2

NEW COVID POSITIVE CASES  = 1 staff

TOTAL COVID POSITIVE CASES = 1 (0 resident/ 1 staff)

Point Prevalence COVID testing will take place today for staff and residents.

Residents continue on enhanced monitoring precautions:

  • Pause all social visits
  • Residents to stay in their rooms
  • Staff to use separate entrance

The unit is now on isolation and we are awaiting instruction from the Public Health officer.

APRIL 26 – MENNO HOME WEST 1 – COVID positive = 1 STAFF

COVID UPDATE – May 3, 2021 – Home W1

NEW COVID POSITIVE CASES  = 0

TOTAL COVID POSITIVE CASES = 1 (0 resident/ 1 staff)

Point Prevalence COVID testing took place today. Residents and staff who were previously swabbed were swabbed again for COVID. If there are no COVID positive results, residents will be able to come off of enhanced monitoring and return to social visits May 8th.

We are waiting for further pending swabs to be returned.

18 residents were swabbed for COVID: 12 returned negative / 6 pending

7 staff were swabbed for COVID: 5 returned negative / 2 pending

Residents continue on enhanced monitoring precautions:

  • Residents to stay in their rooms
  • Staff to use separate entrance

We are waiting for further pending swabs to be returned.

APRIL 28 – MENNO HOME EAST 2 – *NEW* COVID positive = 1 STAFF

  • Stop all communal activities, including dining and recreation
  • Stop all social visits
  • Residents to stay in their rooms
  • Staff to use separate entrance

We are waiting for further instruction from Public Health.

APRIL 26 – MENNO HOME EAST 1 – COVID positive T=1 STAFF

COVID UPDATE – April 26, 2021 – Menno Home E1

NEW COVID POSITIVE CASES  = 0 (0 residents / 1 staff)

TOTAL COVID POSITIVE CASES = 1 (0 residents/ 1 staff)

TOTAL NEW SYMPTOMATIC = 0 (0 resident / 0 staff)

In consultation with Public Health and the Medical Health Officer:

  • Residents are off enhanced monitoring due to low risk of exposure
  • Visitations to continue as before
  • Communal dining and recreation as before
  • Residents and staff to get tested even with milder symptoms
  • No need to cohort staff to one unit

APRIL 26 – MENNO HOME WEST 1 – *NEW* COVID positive = 1 STAFF

COVID UPDATE – April 25, 2021 – *New*  Menno Home W1

NEW COVID POSITIVE CASES  = 1 (0 residents / 1 staff)

TOTAL COVID POSITIVE CASES = 1 (0 residents/ 1 staff)

TOTAL NEW SWABS FOR COVID = 7 (6 residents / 1 staff)

In consultation with Public Health, the following directions were given:

  • 6 residents who were in contact with the staff member are on droplet isolation and have been swabbed
  • Remaining residents are to stay in their rooms
  • All communal activities including dining and recreation temporarily stopped
  • All visitation (social and essential) temporarily stopped

There will be more information once public health consults the Medical Health Officer.

APRIL 25 – MENNO HOME EAST 1 – *NEW* COVID positive = 1 STAFF

  • All staff working in Menno Home E1 cohorted to this unit
  • All communal activities including dining and recreation temporarily stopped
  • All visitation (social and essential) temporarily stopped
