Menno Place Long Term Care (LTC) Family Council invites you to join our next meeting on Monday, February 23, 2026.

Join us online to be a voice in decision-making that affects our loved ones and all residents. Lend your observations, experiences, ideas, and work together to improve the resident experience at Menno Home & Menno Hospital.

How to join :

Send an e-mail to the Family Council (mennoplacefamilycouncil[at]gmail.com) to request a meeting invitation. All Family Members and Friends of a long-term care resident at Menno Place are welcome to join and participate in the Family Council.

Why: Family Councils, as prescribed by the care home regulations, are most successful when certain key factors are present. This session will start at the beginning to define what a family council is, and provide insight to making it the best it can be.

Lisa Dawson, Interim Chair of the Fraser Association of Family Councils (FAFC), will facilitate this meeting. Lisa has a long history of being a family caregiver. Her Father is in long-term care, and she is the Chair of their family council. She is also the VP/Secretary of the provincial association of family councils (ILTCCABC)

Family and Friends is a regularly scheduled meeting for family members, friends or representatives of residents in Menno Home and Menno Hospital. Our guest speakers will be Coordinator of Accreditation, Projects and Education Loveleen Sekhon and Recreation Support/Special Projects Bryan Gay. Loveleen and Bryan will be discussing their roles and how they support our staff, residents and families at Menno Home and Menno Hospital.

Family Council is a great way to connect and learn about the opportunities that are on the Menno Place campus, as well as getting to know other family members that are on a similar journey with their loved ones in long term care. We hope you will be able to join us.
