Memo for families and loved ones of residents in Terrace East / Terrace West
Memo / Notes for Families and Loved ones of residents in Terrace East/West
In order to get an accurate picture of how COVID has impacted Terrace East, there will be NO visitors and NO outings for residents. This includes any activity where a resident exits the apartment building such as going for a walk, outdoor visits with loved ones, church, etc.
In the past, family and friends have used the enterphone to call their loved one and enter in the early morning or after Visitation Host hours. This has also happened through the parkade or other external doors. Please be advised that entering Terrace East or taking a resident out of Terrace East without arrangement with Cheryl Dawes, Manager, Community Enrichment is in violation of the Public Health Order and is subject to penalties outlined in the Public Health Act. Video surveillance is active at all entrances to the building.
Urgent (life-dependent) medical appointments will likely be permitted for residents but must be arranged. Please call Cheryl Dawes, 604.851.4020 to make arrangements. She will have to get permission from the Medical Health Officer for any exception.
Also, we are not receiving drop-off deliveries at this time. All essential deliveries must be arranged through Reception: 604.851.4004. This is because all of our staff who worked in the past 4 days must get a COVID swab before returning to work. This means that we are very short-staffed in Terrace East. We appreciate your understanding. In the past, we allowed “essential deliveries” to include cheezies, pop and other extras. At this time, we will only accept items that are essential to the life of the resident such as incontinence products, hearing aids and medications.
Please phone your loved one to encourage them! This news will hit hard today and they need to know that they are not abandoned or alone. We encourage you to call them often!
Terrace West – Communal dining in the Dining Room continues for Terrace East floors 1-4 and Terrace West (separated in the dining room). Terrace West may have social visitors and personal service providers at this time. Residents required to wear a mask when out of their apartment or with others inside their apartment. Activities are temporarily suspended.
