This session, delivered on Zoom, is designed for family caregivers to residents in long-term care and members of family councils. It will provide guidance on how to utilize the OSA Directory effectively. Join staff from the Office of the Seniors Advocate for a guided tour of the Long-Term Care and Assisted Living Directory. Learn how to use this tool to compare care homes, understand available services and access information to support residents and families better.

Supporting Loved Ones at End of Life in Long-Term Care

Better support your loved ones (and yourself) through death in long-term care with this one-hour presentation and Q&A session presented over Zoom. Brought by end-of-life doulas Lianne Cohen and Cory Bretz, you’ll hear about what to anticipate through the typical experience of dying, how to be helpful, do self-care, advocate for your loved one and collaborate with other family members, staff, and medical caregivers. This workshop covers many of the physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and practical aspects of death throughout the transition.
