“While many hymns are born out of a particular dramatic experience, this hymn was simply the result of the author’s morning by morning realization of God’s personal faithfulness.” Read more about the origins of ‘Great is Thy Faithfulness’ and other helpful resources for seniors.

Summer is just around the corner and it’s time to think about air conditioners. The common areas of each of the apartment buildings are air conditioned but the apartments are not. Air conditioners are in stores now. If you want to buy one, don’t wait. They tend to sell out quickly.
What kind of air conditioner should you choose?
How to request installation:
If you order an air conditioner online please be sure to give the resident’s full address including their suite number. The unit needs to be delivered to their apartment. We have had issues in the past where delivery companies have tried to drop the units off at our warehouse which causes confusion, lost units and delays.
If you have any questions about air conditioners please contact your receptionist – Lynn for Primrose Gardens and Pavilion (604 851-4000) or Claire for Terrace East and Terrace West (604-851-4004).

Family and Friends is a regularly scheduled meeting for family members, friends or representatives of our residents in Menno Home and Menno Hospital. We will be having our Director of Community Enrichment, Sharon Simpson and Recreation/Volunteer Manager Linda Weatherly join us as our guest speakers. Sharon and Linda will be discussing their roles, as well as how families can be involved in our resident’s lives within their departments.
Family Council is a great way to connect and learn about the opportunities that are on the Menno Place campus, as well as getting to know other family members that are on a similar journey with their loved ones in long term care. We hope you will be able to join us.
Menno Home and Hospital (long-term care) are preparing for an Accreditation Survey with Accreditation Canada (www.Accreditation.ca). Terrace East (Assisted Living) will follow in the next year. Independent Living is awaiting the results of a similar survey through Engage BC’s Assurity program (https://engageseniors.ca/assurity). We are currently accredited with Exemplary Standing through Accreditation Canada.
We want to BEE the best! Being accredited allows Menno Place to be measured against world class evidenced based health care standards. The goal is to provide the best healthcare and services to our residents so we can do what we do best: care for and improve lives.
Save the Date: Oct 17th to Oct 21st, 2022
These are the dates the Accreditation surveyors will be on site. Preparation is already underway and will continue until then. Our staff will stay connected by attending your team huddles, reading updates, and participating in the fun events to come.
Onsite at Menno Home and Menno Hospital in all areas of care, services, and support.
Will you BEE prepared?

Chapter 4: Infection Prevention and Control
Addresses organizational infection prevention and control (IPC) practices that promote a collaborative approach in providing safe and reliable services and preventing transmission of pathogens and health care-associated infections.
Chapter 5: Medication Management
Addresses organizational medication management practices that promote a collaborative approach in providing safe and reliable services.
Chapter 6: Residents’ Care Experience
Focuses on ensuring the needs of LTC home residents are met by providing safe and quality individualized care from competent teams.
These chapters are further broken down into eight quality dimensions that all play a part in providing safe, high-quality care.
Watch for these themes to come in future bulletins.
